Privacy policy
Deutsche FassungThis is a translation of the German Datenschutzerklärung. The German version is the authoritative one.
1. Controller
The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:
netzinformatik UG (haftungsbeschränkt)Ursula-de-Boor-Straße 30, 22419 Hamburg
Email: info@netzinformatik.de
2. Overview
This website can be used without signing in. There are no user accounts, no analytics, no tracking and no advertising. The pages load no third-party content: fonts, scripts and graphics come from our own server. We store no data about visitors on the server.
3. Hosting and server logs
The website is run on a server of netcup GmbH (Karlsruhe, Germany). When you request a page, your IP address is processed, as is technically necessary to deliver the page and to keep the service secure. Our application itself logs the time, path and status code of a request and the opening of a page's live connection with purely technical connection details, but neither IP addresses nor what you enter.
To monitor the service we also count how often pages are requested and how often the parser decodes a payload. These are totals only, for example per page and per frame type. They contain no IP addresses, no payloads and no device identifiers, and cannot be traced back to a visitor.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is the secure and reliable operation of the website. We look at the logs only to find faults and to fend off attacks, do not combine them with other data and do not pass them on; they are kept on this server only and deleted after seven days.
netcup acts as our processor (Art. 28 GDPR).
4. Cookie
The website sets a single cookie named _lorasis_key. It holds a random
security token that protects forms against requests from other sites (CSRF protection)
and no information about you. Only after signing in to the access-protected simulator
does it also hold a sign-in mark. It is deleted when you close the browser. The cookie is
strictly necessary to run the website, so no consent is required (§ 25 (2) no. 2
TDDDG). The legal basis for the processing is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.
5. Your browser's local storage
Two items are stored in your browser only (localStorage):
- the theme you chose (light or dark), if you change it;
- the packet parser's history: up to ten of the most recently decoded payloads, never keys.
The history is sent to the server when you open the parser, in order to show the list, and is not stored there. You can remove single entries or the whole history in the parser, or clear the site data in your browser. We store both items only because you use the respective feature (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG).
6. Packet parser
When you enter a payload and, optionally, keys in the parser, they are sent to our server encrypted (TLS), processed in memory for the one decode and not stored. Keys are not logged and are never part of the page address.
The payload is part of the page address (parameter data) so that you can
share a result. LoRaWAN payloads contain device identifiers (DevAddr, DevEUI). Anyone
who passes on such an address passes on these identifiers with it.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is to provide the decode you asked for.
7. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), to rectification (Art. 16), to erasure (Art. 17), to restriction of processing (Art. 18) and to data portability (Art. 20). You may object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing that we base on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (Art. 21). To do so, write to the email address given above.
8. Right to complain
You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Der Hamburgische Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit).
